Provide captions for images used in blogs, white papers, and data sheets but not for banners.
You do not need to add captions for screenshots in product documentation. However, make sure you write appropriate alt text for every screenshot that describes its content.
Captions should encourage the reader to look at the image and help the reader see what's important.
