Words that end in -ing

Gerunds are nouns that end in ing. Participles are verbs and adjectives that end in ing.

Try to limit the use of gerunds and participles in technical content. Where possible, but particularly for titles and UI text, choose the simple present tense (Log in instead of Logging in).

This will keep your writing direct and focused. It also makes content easier to translate.
