Use colons to:

Introduce a list inline in a sentenceThere were three considerations: expense, time, and feasibility.
Introduce a bulleted or numbered list

Capitalize the first word after a colon only if it starts a complete sentence or is a proper noun.

The second half of a heading or subject line with a colon gets its first word initial capped even if it’s not a complete sentence:

Never use two colons in one sentence.
